Are You Finding Yourself Unproductive?

By Ben Shiller Jacob

Are You Finding Yourself Unproductive?

I’m certain that many of you who read this might have experienced this one way or another way. If not, I have for sure. I’m still as a matter of fact! ‘I have no talents, I’m not ready yet, I’m still praying about it but haven’t heard anything from God’, etc. We hear and say these typical statements over and over in our homes, churches, peer groups, workplace etc.

Is it healthy to have these mindsets?

Absolutely not! you’re not being truthful to yourself if you see yourself as incapable. Additionally, we indirectly say that Father God does not know what He is doing. Why? because He didn’t create me well.

It is apparent that we are created with full of potential, talents and more in Father’s sight. Because He made you! Nothing has been created without a purpose or function. Who else can say the best way about a product other than the producer? Each one of us is created with a specific task. Same as a product was manufactured in a factory with a product’s characteristics. There is at least one gift in you by which you can glorify Jesus today.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

After reading the above verse, you will have to think twice before you say those disqualifications about yourselves. Because the One who created you has a different viewpoint from you. God says you are wonderfully the Best! Because He made you. As He is perfect so are you in Christ Jesus.

Let’s have a look at the Conversation between God & Jeremiah.

The following dialogue between Father God & Prophet Jeremiah is profound:

“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you;
Before you were born, I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Then said I:

“Ah, Lord God!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

But the Lord said to me:

“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’
For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of their faces,
For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Jeremiah 1: 5-8, NKJV

Now same as we, Prophet Jeremiah who was in his youth called to be a prophet, was making excuses before God. He claimed inexperienced and inadequate. It is understandable what Jeremiah was trying to say here. Firstly, he is young and immature. Secondly, he has no previous experience as a spokesman at the time of his calling though he was born into a priestly line. From a worldly man’s perspective, these claims make total sense. But look at the way God responded to his excuses. Worldly man’s perspective is contrary to Spiritual man’s perspective. Because these two are led by two different domains: flesh and spirit respectively. We, those who are born again by the Spirit of Holiness are called to walk with the Lord Jesus by faith every moment. Yahweh gave Jeremiah support and presence (I AM with you) which will overcome Jeremiah’s deficiency.

It is fascinating to ponder that Jeremiah was ordained to be a prophet to the nations before he was born. If that the case, it is applicable to you and I. It is just a matter for us to enquire of God to reveal what He has in store for each of us.

Shiller’s Takeaway

Folks, I encourage you all today to be bold and stand firm by having focus and faith in Jesus not in your abilities, education, talents, and financial situation. I strongly believe that we are not made by chance, but by solid reason. Though the circumstances frown upon you, though there is no hope to overcome your current challenges, strengthen yourself by constantly reminding yourself with Father’s words ‘I AM with me!’ Speak to the circumstances that discourage you from doing God’s purpose by shouting God’s truth. I pray that you all will begin to see a real person in you which is formed in Christ Jesus today onwards to build and plant Father’s Kingdom here on earth which is given to us to reign and be fruitful and to destroy every agenda that satan plans to put a limit to the advancement Kingdom of Light.

Communion with a Contrite Heart

Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love and this new life in Jesus. We love you Father that we were in your thoughts before the creation of the visible and invisible realm came to being in Jesus and for setting us apart from this world to advance Your Kingdom on earth. Today we pray in accord that you open our spiritual senses by which we identify ourselves as your maturing sons and daughters in Christ Jesus and prompt us to step up to do your will by the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit that works in us in precious name of Jesus – AMEN!
